A heroic chapter

A Lifeline in History

In 1944, the island of Vis became a critical emergency landing strip for Allied bombers returning from missions over Nazi-occupied Europe. Over 4,000 airmen were saved by this remote Adriatic island.

Their stories of courage, survival, and sacrifice deserve to be preserved for future generations. Help us build a world-class memorial center.
